AJSC Organizes Advocacy and Coordination Meetings with Officials and Local Journalists of Kunar, Uruzgan and Zabul Provinces

The provincial representatives of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held coordination and advocacy meetings with provincial officials and local journalists of Kunar, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces.
In the coordination and advocacy meetings, the committee’s provincial representatives and local journalists discussed the right to access to information, journalists’ safety and financial problems of the media organizations with the governor of Kunar province, Ahmad Tahha, Agha Wali Quraishi, director of Uruzgan province’s Directorate of Information and Culture, and Sharafat Weyar, acting head of the Directorate of Information and Culture of Zabul province.
In these meetings, the committee’s representatives, in addition to highlighting the financial constraints of the media houses and the overall reporting challenges in the relevant provinces, also emphasized the importance of the right to access to information and Journalists’ safety.
In these meetings, the provincial officials promised facilitating better access to information and cooperation of local authorities.
