The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized a consultative and coordination meeting with a number of media officials and representatives to facilitate better coordination among media houses and to address challenges facing media work.
In this meeting, AJSC’s activities across the country to address challenges facing journalists, re-establishment of the Media Violation Commission (CMV) and the committee’s membership of it, implementation of the mass media law, coordination between media houses and media support organizations, and overall challenges facing the media sector, were among the topics discussed in this meeting.
In addition to welcoming the re-establishment of the Media Violation Commission and the committee’s membership in it, media officials and representatives urged that media representatives’ membership in the commission should be increased. They also emphasized that the commission should maintain independence and act in accordance with the law.
