AJSC Organizes Advocacy and Coordination Meetings with Government Officials in 9 Province

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized advocacy and coordination meetings with provincial officials, government spokespersons, media managers and local journalists of Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Khost, Logar, Laghman, Baghlan, Ghazni and Parwan provinces.
In the meetings which aimed to facilitate better coordination between government officials and media, AJSC’s provincial representatives, deputy governors of a number of provinces, directors of information and culture directorates, officials and spokespersons of various government departments, local media managers and journalists of the abovementioned provinces had participated.
In the meetings, in addition to discussing issues such as addressing the challenges facing media work, the right to access to information and creating better coordination between government and the media, strengthening the work of provincial joint media-government coordination committees was emphasized.
The government officials in these provinces, in addition to announcing their support for media, promised facilitating better cooperation of local government officials with the journalists in these provinces.
The AJSC has been tirelessly working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
