AJSC Visits Wounded Journalists in Balkh Province

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) visited the wounded journalists of the attack on a gathering of journalists in a cultural center in Mazar-e Sharif, capital city of Balkh province.


Abdul Qadeem Wyar, AJSC acting director, visited the wounded journalists in the hospital and met the families of victims of this attack as well. 


AJSC acting director, assured the wounded journalists that all their medical expenses will be covered by the AJSC and added that if further treatment in Kabul is deemed necessary, AJSC will facilitate wounded journalists transfer and further treatment in there as well. He also reiterated AJSC’s commitment to support these journalists until they have full recovered from their wounds. 


After an explosion at journalists gathering at Tibyan Cultural Center, which was organized to celebrate the work of local journalists in Mazar-e Sharif city, one journalist was killed and 12 others were injured.
