AJSC Organizes Coordination Meetings with Government Officials in Five Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC), to address challenges facing journalists, organized coordination and advocacy meetings with provincial officials, media managers and local journalists of Jawzjan, Ghor, Badghis, Kapisa and Daikundi provinces.


In the meetings, challenges facing journalists and topics such as the right to access to information, journalists’ safety and coordination between government and the media, were discussed.


Mawlawi Saifuddin Mutasim, head of information and culture directorate of Jawzjan, Mawlawi Abdul Hai Zaeim, head of information and culture directorate of Ghor, Mawlawi Sayd Mohammad Ebadah, police chief of Ghor, Mawlawi Matiullah Mutaqi, head of information and culture directorate of Badghis, Abdul Hakim Rafiullah, police chief of Daikundi, and Kapisa province’s head of passport department, Mawlawi Obaidullah Qanet, had participated in the advocacy and coordination meetings.


The provincial officials of the said provinces promised facilitating better access to information and cooperation of local officials, during these meetings.


In the advocacy and coordination meetings, government officials in these provinces, promised to facilitate journalists’ better access to information and a convenient environment for media.
