To Strengthen the Work of Joint Media-Government Committees, AJSC Organizes Meetings in Five Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized coordination meetings with government officials, local journalists and media managers of Takhar, Faryab, Maidan Wardak, Sar-e Pul and Nimruz provinces. These meetings were organized to strengthen the work of Joint Media-Government Coordination Committee (JMGCC) in these provinces.


In these meetings, improving the work process of JMGCC, journalists’ safety, challenges facing media work such as lack of access to information and financial hardships of the media houses were discussed.


These meetings were held in Takhar, Nimruz, Maidan Wardak, Faryab and Sar-e Pul provinces respectively on March 15, 16, 19 and 20.


The JMGCCs were established in these provinces at the recommendation of the AJSC, to address the challenges facing media and journalists, and facilitating better coordination between government and the media.


The AJSC has been tirelessly working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
