To address challenges facing media work and improve the work conditions of the media, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held separate advocacy and coordination meetings with Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi, deputy minister, Abdul Haq Hamaad, head of human resources directorate and a senior member of the Commission on Media Violations (CMV) and Mufti Abdul Matin Qani, media policy advisor and spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture (MOIC).
In the meetings, challenges facing media work, journalists’ safety and access to information, activities of the Commission on Media Violations (CMV) and addressing journalists’ problems were discussed.
In addition to expressing their full support for media work, the government officials said that the government has been working through implementing comprehensive measures to address the challenges facing journalists and improve the media work situation so that journalists are provided with better working environment.
The AJSC has been tirelessly working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
