The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing media work and journalists with Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), in Kandahar province.

Matiullah Sarwar, AJSC’s government relations coordinator, in addition to sharing the challenges facing journalists and media houses such as financial issues, safety and lack of access to information of journalists, and lack of cooperation by government spokespersons, said that the Commission on Media Violations (CMV) should resume its activities so that all media related issues are addressed through this commission.

Mr. Mujahid, in addition to appreciating AJSC’s efforts in creating better coordination with media houses and the government, said that the government is working to improve the working conditions for the media and journalists. He added that to further facilitate this, certain plans are being considered.

The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
