To Strengthen the Work of Joint Media-Government Coordination Committees, AJSC Organizes Meetings in Six Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized coordination meetings with government officials, local journalists and media managers of Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Parwan, Zabul and Laghman provinces. These meetings were organized to strengthen the work of Joint Media-Government Coordination Committee (JMGCC) in these provinces.


In these meetings, improving the work process of JMGCC, journalists’ safety, challenges facing media work such as lack of access to information and financial hardships of the media houses were discussed.


The JMGCCs were established in 26 provinces of the country at the recommendation of the AJSC, to address the challenges facing media and journalists, and facilitating better coordination between government and the media.


Qari Bakhtiar Maaz, Maidan Wardak governor, Mawlawi Muhibullah Hamas, Zabul deputy governor, heads of information and culture directorates, spokespersons and representatives of government agencies, and a number of media managers and journalists of the said provinces participated in these meetings.


The AJSC has been tirelessly working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
