AJSC Organizes an Advocacy Meeting with the Governor of Baghlan Province

To address challenges facing media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized an advocacy and coordination meeting with Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Haqqani, governor of Baghlan province.


Abdul Wahed Wahdat, AJSC focal point for Baghlan province, emphasized the need for creating better conditions for journalists’ access to information, adding that lack of access to information impeded journalists’ work in this province.


Governor of Baghlan province, in addition to appreciating the AJSC’s efforts in this province, said that the media is the eyes and ears of a state and they should strive for development of the country. The governor further said that the local administration supports media activities in the province, adding that he will do everything to facilitate journalists’ access to information.


The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate facilitate a safe environment for journalists, and a better coordination between government and the media.
