The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses in the western zone with Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, during a meeting in Herat province.
In addition to sharing journalists’ issues such as access to information, safety and economic hardships, Shamil Ahmad Mashal, AJSC zone coordinator for the west zone, urged the IAE spokesperson to put in place certain measures to address these issues.
Zabihullah Mujahid, in addition to mentioning the better coordination between media houses and the government entities in this province, said that the government is working to improve the working conditions for the media and journalists, adding that to attain this certain plans are being considered.
Furthermore, during Mr. Mujahid’s visit to this province’s industrial park, he asked the industrialists to place their product advertisements with the media houses of the western zone which can help them introduce their products and support the local media houses.
The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
