The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized advocacy and coordination meetings with provincial officials, media managers and local journalists of Kandahar, Laghman, Logar, Zabul, Helmand and Kunar provinces.
In the meetings, the journalists’ access to credible information, journalists’ safety, government officials’ cooperation with the media, addressing financial issues of media houses, facilitating professional learning opportunities for journalists and other media related issues were discussed.
The officials of these provinces’ directorate of information and culture, spokespersons of government entities and representatives of other government agencies were present in these meetings.
In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.
The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
