AJSC Organizes Advocacy Meetings with Officials of Five Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized advocacy and coordination meetings with provincial officials, media managers and local journalists of Farah, Laghman, Logar, Samangan and Kunar provinces.


In the meetings, journalists’ access to credible information, safety of journalists, government officials’ cooperation with the media, addressing financial issues of media houses, facilitating professional learning opportunities for journalists and other media related issues were discussed.


These meetings were organized with Malwai Abdul Hakim, deputy governor of Farah province, Mawlawi Habibullah Shaker, police chief of Samangan province, Abdul Haqq Haqqani, police chief of Kunar province, Mawlawi Salamat Khan, spokesperson for the office of governor of Laghman province, and Mawlawi Azizullah Haqqani, head of communications and information technology directorate of Laghman province.


In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.


The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
