The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses in the wester zone with Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi, deputy minister of publication of the Ministry of Information and Culture (MOIC).
Maulana Naeem-ul-Haq Haqqani, head of information and culture directorate of Herat province, and a number of local media managers and journalists of this province also participated in the meeting.
In addition to discussing journalists’ issues such as access to information and economic hardships, the need for better coordination between media houses, journalists and government agencies were also emphasized upon.
The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
