The acting director of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with Rafiullah Samim, director of information and culture directorate, spokespersons for local government entities, media managers and local journalists of Logar province.
Abdul Qadeem Wyar, AJSC acting director, in the meeting with head of information and culture directorate and a number of local administration’s spokespersons of Logar province, discussed the challenges facing journalists and emphasized on the need for journalists’ safety, better coordination between government officials and media, facilitating journalists’ better access to information, and addressing media houses challenges.
AJSC acting director, during this official trip, visited Mahal, Zinat and Etihad radio stations and after listening to their issues, said that the AJSC is working to address challenges facing journalists and media workers.
Rafiullah Samim, head of information and culture directorate of Logar, said that journalists’ challenges in coordination with government, accessing information and safety have largely been resolved compared to past. He further urged the AJSC’s cooperation in facilitating access to information training courses for government spokespersons and local journalists of this province.
The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
