AJSC Shared Journalists’ Challenges with Minister Khairkhwa in Takhar Province

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses in the central zone in a meeting with Mawlawi Khairullah Khairkhwa, acting minister of Ministry of Information and Culture (MOIC), in a meeting held in Takhar province. Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi, deputy minister of publication of MOIC, Zabihullah Ansari, head of information and culture directorate and a number of local media managers and journalists of this province also participated in the meeting.


Abdul Sami Khawari, AJSC provincial representative for Takhar province, discussed journalists and media houses issues such as media licenses, electricity tariffs, safety concerns and women journalist work in Takhar’s media, and urged the government officials to address these issues.


In this meeting, MOIC’s senior officials said that these issues will be addressed so that the concerns of this province’s journalists and media workers are resolved.


The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
