To Strengthen the Work of Joint Media-Government Committee, AJSC Organizes A Meeting in Farah Province

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized a coordination meeting with government officials of Farah province. The meeting was organized to strengthen the work of Joint Media-Government Coordination Committee (JMGCC) in this province.

Mawlawi Abdul Hai Sabawoon, director of information and culture, Shamil Ahmad Mashal, AJSC coordinator for west zone, Basir Ahmad Silab, AJSC provincial representative for Farah, representatives of a number of government agencies, media managers and local journalists of the Farah province participated in this meeting.

In these meetings, improving the work process of JMGCC, journalists’ safety, challenges facing media work such as lack of access to information and financial hardships of the media houses were discussed.

The JMGCC was established in this province at the recommendation of the AJSC, to address the challenges facing media and journalists, and facilitating better coordination between government and the media.

The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
