A delegation of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) visited a number of media outlets in Kandahar and Helmand provinces, meeting local media managers and journalists.
In separate meetings with local media managers and journalists of Kandahar and Helmand provinces, topics such as the overall media situation, access to information, journalists’ safety, and capacity building programs for journalists were discussed.
Abdul Qadeem Wyar, deputy and acting director of the AJSC, in these meetings, said that one of the main objectives of this trip is to evaluate the media situation in the provinces so that it allows for adaption better addressing measures.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating a safe environment for journalists and media workers.
