Officials of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) during their officials trip to the south zone, held a meeting with Hafiz Rashid Helmandi, head of Directorate of Information and Culture of Helmand province.
In the meeting, topics such as the overall media situation in the province and journalists’ safety and access to information were discussed.
Abdul Qadeem Wyar, deputy and acting director of the AJSC, emphasized on facilitating journalists’ better access to information, adding that AJSC has been working to facilitate a safe working environment for media houses, and journalists’ better access to information.
Hafiz Rashid Helmandi, head of Directorate of Information and Culture of Helmand province, said that he will try to address journalists’ challenges.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
