To address challenges facing media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared local journalists’ challenges with governors of Laghman, Helmand, Nuristan and Jawzjan provinces.
In the meetings, overall media situation in these provinces, journalists’ safety and access to information, financial issues of the media houses, and facilitating capacity building training programs for journalists were discussed.
In separate meetings with governors of these provinces, AJSC emphasized the need for media work and urged facilitating better access to information.
The governors, in addition to appreciating the media activities in their respective provinces, and promised that government agencies will have improved cooperation and provide better facilities to journalists.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
