The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held a meeting with Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi, deputy minister of publication of the Ministry of Information and Culture (MOIC) in Herat province.
In the meeting, Abdul Jami Weqar, AJSC manager, Abdul Hazim Gran, AJSC communications, and Shamil Ahmad Mashal, AJSC’s western zone coordinator, participated.
In addition to discussing journalists’ issues such as access to information and economic hardships, the need for government’s better support and cooperation with the media was emphasized upon.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
