The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Haji Mohammad Yousof Wafa, governor of Balkh, in a meeting held in this province.
Zabihullah Noorani, head of information and culture directorate of Balkh, Abdul Latif Sahak, AJSC zone coordinator for northern zone, and a number of local media managers and journalists of this province also participated in the meeting.
Abdul Latif Sahak, AJSC zone coordinator for northern zone, discussed challenges facing journalists and media houses, and urged the governor to reduce and change media houses’ electricity tariffs from commercial to residential.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
