AJSC Meets IEA’s Spokesperson in Kandahar

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and Inamullah Samangani, director of information and culture directorate in Kandahar province.


Matiullah Sarwar, AJSC’s government relations coordinator, shared challenges facing media work with government officials, and in addition to discussing the importance of media work, urged facilitating better working conditions for media.


Zabihullah Mujahid, IEA spokesperson, appreciated the AJSC’s work, and added that he will be a partner in addressing challenges facing journalists and media houses. He further added that growth and development of the media is among the main objectives of the IEA.


On the other hand, Inamullah Samangani, Kandahar’s head of information and culture, while appreciating journalists’ coordination in this province, emphasized on the need for addressing media houses’ financial challenges.


The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
