The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Mawlawi Faizullah Jamal Haqqani, governor of Paktiak, in a meeting held in this province. Mawlawi Mohammad Amin Huzaifa, director of Paktika’s information and culture directorate, also participated in this meeting.
Khairudin Zaki, AJSC’s provincial focal point for Paktika, in addition to providing information on AJSC’s activities, discussed challenges facing journalists and media workers, the overall media situation in this province, and journalists’ safety and access to information.
Governor of Paktika promised cooperation in addressing jouranlists, media workers and media houses’ challenges and said that the local administration’s provision of information will be improved.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
