AJSC Organizes Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials of Five Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized advocacy and coordination meetings with provincial officials of Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan, Zabul and Logar provinces.

In the meetings, journalists’ access to credible information, safety of journalists, creating better working relationship between media and government, and other media related issues were discussed.

The advocacy meetings were held with Sidiq Ahamad Sidiqi, spokersperson for the office of Logar’s governor, Fazelhaq Khaliqyar, head of information department of Nuristan’s directorate of information and culture, Mula Younos Yousofzai, spokesperson of Laghman’s police command, Qari Zabihullah Jawhar, spokesperson of Zabul’s police command, and Qari Abuzar, spokesperson for the Kunar’s directorate of intelligence.

In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.

The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
