AJSC Meets Director of Media Monitoring Directorate of MoIC

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC), to address challenges facing media work, met Abdul Wahid Rayan, director of media monitoring of the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC).


In this meeting, topics such as the overall media situation, mass media law, the issue of extending frequency licenses of a number of local media outlets in Kandahar province by Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA) and AJSC’s activities were discussed.


Jamil Weqar, AJSC’s case manager, talked about challenges facing journalists and media houses and urged the government official to address these challenges.


Director of MOIC’s media monitoring directorate, in addition to reiterating Islamic Emirate’s support for the media said that the media work situation has improved and there is better coordination between government and media, compared to the past.



AJSC has been working for facilitating better working relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
