AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in 13 Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Nangarhar, Kundoz, Saripul, Faryab, Ghor, Parwan, Logar, Daikundi, Bamyan, Paktika, Paktia, Jawzjan and Badakhshan provinces.


Police chief of Bamyan, mayor of Maimana city, head of ATRA’s east zone in Nangarhar, directors of education of Badakhshan and Saripul, directors of environment protection directorates of Ghor, Daikundi and Paktika, officials of the propagation of virtue and prevention of vice directorates in Nangarhar and Logar, directors of Parwan University, public health in Paktia, DABS in Ghor, land transport of Ghor, rural rehabilitation and development of Saripul, economy and borders and tribal affairs of Jawzjan, and deputy of the religious scholars council of Saripul, as well as AJSC’s provincial representatives , had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, installation of frequency filters, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets, high cost of electricity for media, facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
