To address challenges facing media work and follow-up the treatment of journalists injured in an attack on March 11, the acting director of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met Zabihullah Nurrani, director of information and culture directorate, the injured journalists, and a number of media managers of Balkh province.
Abdul Qadeem Wyar, acting director of the AJSC, in a meeting with head of information and culture directorate, raised the media houses’ financial hardships and said that AJSC has been working to find adequate solution to these challenges. He also said that the next phase of the treatment of journalists who were injured in the March 11 attack will begin soon.
Director of information and culture directorate, in addition to appreciating the AJSC’s efforts in this province, promised to cooperate in addressing challenges facing journalists in Balkh.
In addition to meeting the injured journalists, AJSC acting director visited Paikan, Nehad, Frough Roz and Rabia-e Balkhi media outlets. In these meetings, AJSC acting director, after hearing media workers’ issues, said that AJSC is working so that challenges facing journalists and media workers are addressed.
The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
