AJSC Organizes Advocacy Meetings with Officials of Seven Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized advocacy and coordination meetings with provincial officials, media managers and local journalists of Laghman, Kunar, Nuristan, Saripul, Faryab, Uruzgan and Kapisa provinces.


In the meetings, addressing financial issues of media houses, journalists’ access to credible information, safety of journalists, government officials’ cooperation with the media, and other media related issues were discussed.


The meetings were held with Malwai Rahmatullah, mayor of Mehtarlam city, Mawlawi Najibullah Hanif, head of information and culture directorate of Kunar, Mufti Mohammad Yousof, police chief of Nuristan, Mohammad Usman Torabi, police chief of Kapisa, Agha Wali Quraishi, head of information and culture directorate of Uruzgan, Mawlawi Shamsullah Mohammadi, head of information and culture directorate of Faryab, and Mula Abdul Ghafar Haqnuma, head of information and culture directorate of Saripul.


In separate advocacy meetings, government officials of the said provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.


The AJSC has been consistently working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better coordination between government and the media.
