The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Mawlawi Shir Ahmad Haqqani, governor of Laghman province, in a meeting held in this province.
Mirwais Khwakhogi, AJSC’s provincial focal point for Laghman, in addition to providing information on AJSC’s activities, discussed challenges facing journalists and media workers, the overall media situation in this province, journalists’ safety and access to information.
In the meeting, governor of Laghman province, in addition to appreciating the AJSC’ work in this province, said that media is an integral part of the society and promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better working relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
