To address challenges facing media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held a meeting with Maulana Naeem-ul-Haq Haqqani, Director of Government Media and Information Center of the Islamic Emirate (GMIC).
In this meeting, the overall media situation, challenges facing media houses and journalists, access to information, economic situation of media houses and coordination between media and the government were discussed.
Abdul Qadeem Wyar, deputy and acting director of the AJSC, emphasized the need for addressing challenges facing journalists and media houses to enable further development of the sector.
Mr. Haqqani, in addition to appreciating the work and activities of the AJSC said that the government is trying to address the challenges facing the media houses.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better work relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
