Psychosocial Support for Afghan Journalists

15. March 2016, 18:31

Journalists are the first people to report incidents of violence in the country. Since everyday journalists are the witness of harsh circumstances while reporting different types of violence, suicide attacks, such as the latest attack on protestors in Deh-mazang Square in Kabul, they are prone to experience traumas that would affect their mental health.

AJSC’s survey that was conducted two years ago showed that a lot of journalists experience post-traumas after reporting cases of violence.

AJSC, in order to address this issue, has arranged psychosocial services for journalists by expert therapists in the country. Journalists who wish to receive psychosocial therapy can contact AJSC.
